Pastor Sam Fenceroy has served as the Senior Pastor at Mt. Olive Church Plano since 1994. Born in Wilmot, Arkansas, he entered the military after some time in college.
There he encountered racism and eventually he responded by beating up someone calling him the “N” word. In the military prison, God confronted him. God challenged him on whether or not he would have resorted to violence if ten men would have called him a racial slur. At that moment, he realized that racism was more about pride than color. This revelation allowed him to develop a relationship with a businessman (who did not look like him) leading to opening his first rental store in 1973, which eventually grew to 22 locations and a furniture manufacturing company.
In 1984 he committed his life totally to Jesus Christ. Around that time the business suffered great losses and sales dropped at a startling rate. In 1990 he closed the last store.
In 1992 he graduated CFNI and received his Bachelors of Applied Arts and Science from Dallas Baptist University in 1995. He received a Master of Theology from Christian Life School of Theology in 2002.
He is married to Pastor Gloria, and they have four daughters.
